At today’s National Assembly session to debate budgetary matters, Bright Armenia MP Mane Tandilyan, who heads the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, criticized Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan for not attending the hearings for a second time.

Tandilyan addressed her remarks to Yerevan Deputy Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan, who was standing in for Marutyan.

Tandilyan said she found out via press reports that Marutyan is in self-isolation after coming into contact with two staffers infected with the coronavirus and added that the Yerevan Municipality should have officially reported the news directly to the parliament.

Sargsyan confirmed the news, adding that Marutyan was unavailable to attend today’s hearings.

Tandilyan pressed ahead, saying that had she been informed, through official channels on Marutyan’s situation, she could have organized a video link-up with the Yerevan mayor.
