Armenian Deputy PM Says Some Money Raised by Hayastan All Armenian Fund Already Spent

During a Q&A session at Armenia’s National Assembly today, PM Nikol Pashinyan wouldn’t say if snap elections are on the horizon.

"I have nothing to add now. I can say that the priority for us is democratic stability,” Pashinyan said after presenting his government’s agenda for the next six months.

Opposition political parties have called for Pashinyan’s resignation following the military defeat in Karabakh. Opposition MPs were absent at today’s Q&A session.

Pashinyan said that no government can exist in Armenia without the permission of the people. Speaking about government personnel changes, Pashinyan said he’s reviewing the issue.

Ruling My Step (Im Kayl) MP Hovhannes Igityan asked whether it was possible to involve the OSCE Minsk Group in upcoming Nagorno Karabakh talks.

Pashinyan responded that this issue is included in the road map.

MP Taguhi Tovmasyan, who left the My Step Faction, inquired about the exploitation of the Sotk gold mine, noting that a part of the mine is in the Karvatchar area of Artsakh.

Pashinyan instructed Tovmasyan to send her question, in writing, to the government

My Step MP Arthur Manukyan inquired about the millions recently raised by Hayastan All-Armenian Fund.

Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan said that a portion of the total raised has been spent and the remainder donated to the government for future allocation. Grigoryan said the Fund will present a detailed report soon.

MP Nazeli Baghdasaryan inquired about those who have gone missing during the war, saying that their families will face social problems until those individuals are officially declared as missing.

Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan said that the ministry has formed a commission that is working on the issue with the International Committee of the Red Cross and Russian peacekeeping forces in Karabakh.

Tonoyan said that investigations have located many servicemen who were considered missing. Tonoyan said that everything is being done so that the families with losses receive state support as soon as possible.

MP Hamazasp Danielyan asked what the government is doing to for wounded soldiers in need of medical rehabilitation.

Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan said that there is a lot to be done in this regard, both to modernize the existing rehab center and to establish a new one. Torosyan said that according to preliminary estimates a new 250-bed center is needed.
