All Armenian Fund Allocates $1.5 Million for Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Treatment

The Hayastan All Armenian Fund reports that it has allocated $1.5 million to provide prosthetics and rehabilitation treatment to Armenian soldiers wounded in the recent Karabakh war and that more money to fund the project is on the way.

On January 23, a fundraising event initiated by the metal-rock band System of a Down will take place. Part of the collected funds will be directed to the purchase of 30 functional, high-quality prostheses for the hands.

The Fund says it cooperates with the Homeland Defender Rehabilitation Center in Yerevan, which organizes rehabilitation treatment for people with disabilities.

The Fund says a state-of-the-art Dutch-made prosthetic laboratory has been brought to Armenia and that a specialist will be sent to the Center to train Armenian doctors.

In the first stage of the project, 100 prostheses will be sent to Armenia.
