Candidate Robert Kocharyan Declares Close to $4 Million in Cash

Former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan, who heads the Hayastan (Armenia) slate in this month’s early parliamentary election, declared 980 million AMD ($1.889 million) and US$1.927 million in cash holdings as of June 5, 2021.

Kocharyan, as per the law, disclosed the following income during 2020-2021: 28.915 million AMD (bond interest); $78,155 in bank interest, and $199,300 in wages from the Sistema Public Joint Stock Financial Corporation.

Kocharyan has been a member of the Sistema PJSFC Board of Directors since 2009 and is an independent director as defined by Bank of Russia and Moscow Exchange. 

Kocharyan, born in Stepanakert in 1954, declared an apartment in the Artsakh capital and a house in Yerevan.

He claims to have no personal automobile, nor did he declare any personal effects exceeding 8 million drams or its foreign currency equivalent.
