Pashinyan Warns of "Civil Vendettas" If Reelected

During a campaign stop at Talin today, Acting Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan warned of sweeping personnel changes within the government if he is reelected.

Pashinyan, claimed there were forces within the central government and in provincial bodies working as “trojan horses” against his rule, forcing people to attend opposition rallies in the run-up to the June 20 snap parliamentary election.

"I am now saying directly and clearly that after the elections there will be vendettas against the community leaders who are trying to force the people. There are institutions, I do not care if they are private or public, whose leaders are forcing their employees. They will be subjected to the most brutal of political vendettas," said Pashinyan.

"The leaders of those communities will, in a word, be gotten rid of. There will be snap elections. I warn you not to try to suddenly struggle," he said.

Pashinyan called on those present to vote for his Civil Contract party, thus replacing his “velvet mandate with a steel mandate”. He promised those in attendance that once reelected they would witness the massacre of all “scoundrels" in the public administration system and political vendettas.

"So, prepare for civil revenge, prepare for civil vendettas," he said.
