Armenian President's Office Will Not Comment on Sarkissian Resignation "Conspiracy Theories"
The Office of the President of Armenia has issued another statement following the January 23 resignation of Armen Sarkissian, saying it will not comment on “conspiracy theories and political myths” now circulating on the issue.
"President Armen Sargsyan's concerns relate to the real problems and challenges facing the state and everyone's main task today is to confront them and find solutions," the statement reads.
The presidential office described a January 23 Hetq article claiming that Armen Sarkissian resigned as president because he held dual citizenship when elected to the post in 2018 and thus risked criminal prosecution, as “an attempt to divert public attention with a false agenda.”
