Armenia's National Football Team Starts 2022 in 92nd Place
Armenia’s football team maintains its 92nd spot (1,242 points) according to today’s first 2022 FIFA ranking of the world’s 210 national teams.
Belgium continues to lead the world, followed by Brazil, France, Argentina, England, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Denmark and the Netherlands.
Among Armenia’s rivals in the upcoming UEFA Nations League are Ukraine (27 place), Scotland (40th), and Ireland (49th). All these teams have dropped in the rankings compared to December.
The Armenia-Montenegro friendly match will take place in Yerevan on March 24, and the Norway-Armenia match will take place on March 29 in Oslo. Montenegro is currently 72nd in the FIFA rankings, and Norway is 45th.
Among former USSR countries, Ukraine leads in the world rankings. Russia is in the 35th place, Uzbekistan (85th), Georgia (86th). The others rank lower than Armenia.
Iran (21st place) ranks the highest of Armenia’s neighbors. Turkey ranks 39th, Georgia (86th), and Azerbaijan (121st).
