Judge Postpones Pashinyan Hearing Till Tomorrow
Late word from the Nikol Pashinyan court hearing to decide whether the “Haykakan Zhamanak” editor would be served with pre-trial detention has been postponed at the request of his lawyers.
Attorney Tigran Atanesyan stated, “Since the material and documents were provided to the defense by the special investigators either during the hearing or just thirty minutes before, we requested that the hearing be postponed so that we could formulate our position in a satisfactory manner.”
According to Mr. Atanesyan, during the hearing opposition firebrand Pashinyan even uttered political slogans like “Struggle until Victory”.
The hearing regarding the detention of Mr. Pashinyan will resume tomorrow. He has been charged with “organizing mass public disturbances” and “using physical force against an officer of the government.”
