President Serzh Sargsyan visited Paruyr Hayrikian in hospital today to wish him a speedy recovery.

Hayrikian told Sargsyan that he was feeling better after undergoing surgery for the removal of a bullet from his shoulder area. He then recounted the details of the attack against him the night before.

Sargsyan told reporters that the attack against Hayrikian was also an attack against the state and an attempt to derail the normal election process.

“I want to assure all of you that our law enforcement agencies will do everything to identify the culprits of this dastardly crime.  Our physicians have done a lot already and I am certain that Paruyr Hayrikian will make a speedy recovery," Sargsyan said.
