A new school was set to be built this year in the Aragatzotn village of Vardenis, to replace the crumbling structure now in use, but construction has yet to begin just three months before the start of the new school season.

The state government has allocated 155 million AMD for the new school that can house120 students.

Village Mayor Kamo Petrosyan told Hetq that the community has written to President Sargsyan requesting that he intervenes to speed things up.
