Heritage Party MP Urges Majority to Back Ad-Hoc Natural Gas Committee
Heritage faction head Rouben Hakobyan called on the parliamentary majority to vote in favor of the proposal.
Hakobyan said it was wrong not to include the country’s US$300 million gas debt in the budget> He argued that such a policy violated the law.
Hakobyan added that many in the majority don’t even know about the debt and that many feel they can vote however they want, regardless of the fact, just because they constitute a majority.
He concluded that the reason why the debt hasn’t been included in the budget is that it either has been ‘pocketed’ by some officials or that, for purely political interests, it is being concealed from public scrutiny.
