Economic Watchdog Group Again Targets "Aleks Grig"

Armenia’s State Committee for Economic Protection (SCEP) has once again singled out MP Samvel Aleksanyan’s “Aleks Grig” company for administrative oversight.

This time the company has caught the eye of the SCEP for increases in the market price of butter and vegetable oil. The company has a dominant position in the market for these two imported commodities.

The SCEP says that as a result of recent price monitoring, it has given the company five days in which to make available purchase and sales documents justifying such a price hike in these basic commodities. According to the watchdog SCEP, “Aleks Grig” controls 35% of the butter market and 38% of the corn and sunflower oil market.
