Russian Security Forces Arrest Levon Hayrapetyan at Moscow Airport
Russian Federal Security Service forces yesterday arrested Levon Hayrapetyan, an Artsakh native known to have ties to the Kingisepp organized criminal gang in Russia, while he was disembarking from a flight at Moscow’s Domodedova Airport.
Hayrapetyan is said to be one of the top ten richest Armenians in the world.
The gang is said to have ordered 15 contract killings and attempted assassinations.
Russian media reports that Hayrapetyan will be formally charged in the next few days.
Hayrapetyan was born in the Artsakh village of Vank and worked as a reporter in the Ogonyok and Komsomolskaya Pravda newspapers. He later turned his attention to business and is said to have used his official connections to amass a personal fortune.
