Heritage Party Calls for Temporary Committee on Syunik Eminent Domain Issue
The Heritage Party today called on RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan to set up a committee to look into the problems facing five rural communities in Syunik as a result of a government decision this April declaring their lands “eminent domain”.
The five villages are Qajaran, Artzvanik, Sevaqar, Atchanan and Chapni.
Speaking for the party, MP Stepan Safaryan proposed that the mayors of all five communities be invited to review the matter with appropriate government officials.
MP Safaryan also urged the chairmen of five standing committees of the National Assembly to convene hearings on the issue after the holidays.
