Police Bust Yerevan Counterfeiting Ring; Seize $850,000

Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS) says it has busted a counterfeiting ring in Yerevan and seized US $850,000 in bills.

Working on a tip-off, the NSS says it first set-up a sting operation where $25,000 was exchanged in a sale.

Police then conducted a simultaneous raid on thirteen Yerevan apartments and arrested seven.

An NSS statement says that 1.5 kilos of marijuana were also seized.
