The Armenian parliament, by a vote of 68 to 1, today approved a government bill to release 210 million cubic meters of water from Lake Sevan this year for irrigation purposes.
The Enlightened Armenia and Republic political parties will field candidates in the September 23 Yerevan Municipal Council election under the Light Alliance ticket.
“Up till now, the councils operated to serve the interests of the authorities and not to fulfill the functions they’re responsible for,” Harutyunyan told those present.
