On March 10 th the Investigative Journalist of Armenia applied to the court of First Instance of the Kentron and Nork-Marash Communities seeking compensation for monetary losses suffered during their drawn-out yearlong legal proceeding.
On February 10, 2005 the Court of Cassation ruled in favor of Edik Baghdasaryan, president of the NGO Investigative Journalists of Armenia, in his suit against Mayor Yervand Zakharyan. In doing so, the court obliged the mayor to make available to the journalists' organization information on all decisions regarding land allocations in the public park surrounding Yerevan's Opera House taken from 1997 to 2003 by Zakharyan and his predecessors.

On December 1, 2004 the Court of Appeal on Civil Cases of Armenia, in a new composition, with Judge Vardan Avanesyan presiding, again examined the suit brought by the NGO Investigative Journalists of Armenia against the Office of the Mayor of Yerevan.
On August 10, 2004 the Administrative Court of Appeals of Armenia will begin reexamination of the suit brought by the Association of Investigative Journalists NGO against the Yerevan Mayor's Office.
On June 9, 2004 the Court of First Instance of the Kentron and Nork-Marash Communities of Yerevan began its examination of the suit brought by the Association of Investigative Journalists NGO against the Yerevan Mayor's Office.
