Last week, Damtew Dessalegne, the representative for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Armenia, sent the following letter to Hetq with the request that it be published. We do so in its entirety.
In June of 2010, the United Nations Yerevan Office allocated $1milion to build residential housing for Armenian refugees. The building, with its twenty apartments, was constructed in the village of Kasakh, just one kilometer outside Yerevan.
In June 2010, the United Nations Yerevan Office spent $700,000 to build a twenty apartment house for refugees in the village of Kasakh just over the Yerevan city line.
