YSU Board Holds No Confidence Vote for Rector
Yerevan State University’s (YSU) Board of Trustees is meeting today to decide the fate of the school’s longtime rector Aram Simonyan.
The 32-member Board will either approve or reject a vote of no confidence regarding Simonyan, who has served as YSU Rector since 2006.
During the meeting an unidentified man approached the podium, claiming that Simonyan had swindled him out of 30 million drams. Meeting coordinators did not allow the man to explain, arguing he wasn’t a member of the Board and thus had no right to speak.
Update: The Board rejected the motion to approve a no-confidence vote.
