Armenian Emergency Situations Minister and Romanian Ambassador Discuss Cooperation

Armenian Minister of Emergency Situations Feliks Tsolakyan today met with the newly appointed Ambassador of Romania to Armenia Cornel Ionescu and discussed the possibility of deepening cooperation in the emergency services sector.

Minister Tsolakyan noted that his ministry cooperates closely with the relevant structures of the Russian Federation, the United States of America, Japan, as well as other countries and international organizations.

He attached special importance to the activity of the Russian-Armenian Humanitarian Response Center, which has sent humanitarian aid to Syria and Iran this year.

Ambassador Ionescu thanked Minister Tsolakyan for the warm welcome and noted that he will spare no effort to establish close cooperation between the governments of Armenia and Romania, especially in the field of emergencies.

Ambassador Ionescu also announced that the Romanian Senate will hold the 2019 session. On September 18, 2008, the bill unanimously adopted the October 12th Declaration of the Armenian Language, Alphabet and Culture in Romania, which highlights the high level of Armenian-Romanian relations.
