Azerbaijani Propaganda Gaff: Capturing a Fortress in Baku, Not Shushi

The Azerbaijani propaganda machine, which has been waging war against Artsakh and Armenia since September 27 to cover up its own war crimes and feed its own public with false news, has gone so far as to announce the capture the fortress city of Shushi on the Internet an hour ago.

Concurrent with the battles for Shushi, the enemy launched a large-scale propaganda attack, but did so in a rather devious manner.

First, instead of the Shushi mosque, the Azeris showed the New Mosque in Gabala (historic Kapaghak). On the minaret, they hung their flag, trying to convince themselves that they had taken Shushi (see below). Moreover, this mosque was built in 2013. Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremonies.

This forgery was caught very quickly, since there’s a huge difference between the Upper or Inner Mosques of Shushi and the minarets of a similar structure in Gabala.

Azerbaijan’s propaganda machine did not give up, and a new video and photo appeared on social networks․ This time, the Azeris are claiming to have raised a flag on the fortress of Shushi. Anyone who has seen the Shushi Fortress in real life or even on the Internet can not confuse it with the “toothed tower” presented by the Azerbaijanis.

This propaganda bubble also exploded very quickly, but, as in the case of the Gabala mosque, people were asking where the Azeris would try their luck next.

It turns out that this was done in the Azerbaijani capital Baku, more specifically in a section of the city called Mashtagha. There was an old fortress there which was rebuilt, changed its historical appearance and, according to information, became private property.

Naturally, the view from the castle, which can be seen in the video distributed by the Azerbaijanis, is merely a district of Baku.
