The press in Armenia have reported that Peleshyan, a member of the Armenian Rebirth party, and others in his entourage, forced their way into the church and severely beat Grigoryan who was later rushed to hospital.
Together with local and international organizations Pan-Armenian Environmental Front (PAEF) civil initiative has started a petition on change.org with the demand to stop gold mine exploitation in Amulsar and cease funding “Lydian International” offshore company.
Armenia’s national debt, the amount owed by the government, is fast approaching US$5.5 billion and is expected to reach $5.866 billion by the end of the year.
The ministry reports that Azerbaijani forces fired 4,000 rounds of various caliber weapons across the border, especially in the north, where they employed heavy caliber machine guns.
According to the draft expenditure, 260 million AMD ($584,000) of the 2.784 billion AMD ($5.868 million) slotted for the elections will go to the police, to see that the April elections will be “free and fair”.
