Former Armenian Minister of Culture Launches Entertainment Company in California
Armen Amiryan, who served as Armenia’s Minister of Culture from 2016-2018, founded a company called Radio House in Glendale, California, this past January.
Amiryan, before his appointment as culture minister, served as Public Radio of Armenia managing director.
The newly formed company, according to the below California Secretary of State document, is engaged in “entertainment and production”.
Amiryan is listed as Radio House President, CEO, Secretary and Chief Financial Officer.
The company is registered in one of the houses of the former official on Glendale’s Campton Road.
Hetq wrote about this house, and on Amiryan’s U.S. property in general, in a September 2018 article entitled Millions in Property Deals: Former Armenian Minister of Culture Armen Amiryan’s Private Homes in the United States.
In 2008 and 2013, when he headed Public Radio of Armenia, Amiryan bought several real estate units in Glendale. Two of them are private houses, of which the one on Campton Road was purchased for $820,000. The price of the other was not made public. The others are in one lot. They include a store, a fast food restaurant, and a two-story building. They were purchased for $1.162 million and sold in February 2018 for $2.040 million.
In this regard, we mentioned that the number of property units listed in Amiryan’s financial disclosures for 2017 (when he was reappointed to the post of minister), and in 2018 (after his resignation), remained the same - 10 units, although he sold part of his property in the interval.
Interestingly, after our article appeared, Google Maps concealed the images of two private houses belonging to the former minister. The image of the sold property is available.
Clearly, Google Maps made the change at Amiryan's request.
