Directing her words at Sargsyan, Postanjyan exclaimed, “You didn’t show up her tonight because you fear the just vote of the people.”
Putting the finishing touches on today’s Freedom Square rally, Raffi Hovannisian declared that “This was only the start of the struggle”.
Ghazarian addressed the crowd saying, “For years many have criticized the Armenian people for not being able to defend their rights. Today, the people have stood up and voted their will.”
Heritage Party Vice President Armen Martirosyan told the throng at Freedom Square that “Our victory belongs to Armenia and not to any one person. United, we will bring that victory to fruition.”
At a rally this evening in Yerevan’s Freedom Square, Raffi Hovannisian called on his supporters to return tomorrow to witness the arrival of Serzh Sargsyan and the ultimate transfer of power to the people.
“Pettiness and evil are things in all of us. But here, in this holy place, we have overcome that fear,” Hovannisian declared.
Bakhshyan declared that there was no doubt in her mind that Hovannisian had garnered twice the 37% of votes as published by the Central Electoral Commission.

Artashat, polling station 17/2, school #2, 1:10 a.m.: OSCE/ODIHR observers Aaron Johanson and Eckhart Rodhen come inside. Five and a halfhoursprior I met them in the neighboring 17/5 polling station. Observers Artak and Narine were alarmed bythe ballot stuffing there, but the OSCE/ODIHR observers told them they wouldprobably not be there forthe ballot counting. So I was very happy to know that Johanson and Rodhen would be present.
