At this evening’s rally in Republic Square, leaders of Armenia’s “Velvet Revolution” reaffirmed their goal – to hold parliamentary elections after Nikol Pashinyan is elected prime minister.
The release says that the two stressed the need to resolve the current political impasse within a legal framework, according to the constitution, and based on the results of the “legitimate” parliamentary elections of April 2017.

National Assembly President Ara Babloyan stated today that he will convene a special session of the legislature on May 1 to discuss the election of the next prime minister.
