A team of Hetq reporters yesterday visited the Hovtashen, Noramarg, Sis, Hovtashat, Dashtavan and Zorak villages located in Armenia’s Ararat Province to check of the status of storks in the area.
Lyuba Balyan provided Hetq with a map of the Institute of Zoology listing all the places where blackened oil-coated storks were found.
Photos of oil-soaked storks, Armenia’s non-official state bird, recently appeared in the local social media, causing a minor public uproar.
