There will be a candlelight vigil today at 7pm at the Harsnakar restaurant to honor Vahe Avetyan, the military physician who was beaten to death one year ago at that same location.
In an open letter dated September 7, Nvard Avetyan, sister of Vahe Avetyan, the Armenian military physician beaten to death on June 17, accuses Rouben Hayrapetyan of directly ordering the assault on her brother and his friends at the Harsnakar Restaurant.
The trial examining the beating death of Armenian military physician Vahe Avetyan has gotten underway in a Yerevan court.
Protestors will converge on the Avan and Nor Nork Courthouse on September 13 at 2:30pm to demand that all those responsible for the beating death of Armenian military physician Vahe Avetyan be brought to justice.

The preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated against 6 defendants for committing battery, deliberately causing bodily harm to V. Avetyan’s, A. Bayadyan’s, G. Soghomonyan’s, E. Nikoyan’s and A. Aghajanyan’s health in the "Harsnaqar" restaurant complex which caused the death of one of the victims, was completed in the General Division of the Police adjunct to the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
We inform that the materials of the case were provided to us, Vahe Avetyan’s successor’s and the other 4 victims’ representatives, yesterday at around 22:00 by investigator Roman Sardaryan from the same department, who personally came to our office to hand them over. The overall materials of the case consist of 3 volumes - in more than 1000 pages.
Today, a candlelight vigil took place outside the Harsnakar Restaurant where military physician Vahe Avetyan was brutally beaten and later died in a coma.
A candlelight vigil commemorating Vahe Avetyan's 40th day of burial will be held on August 7 at 7 pm in front of the Consulate General of Armenia in Los Angeles (346 N. Central Ave, Glendale).
